Taking a look at their website, it seems Flight 001 is in more places than just San Francisco. Nevertheless, this cool little travel store is well worth a visit.
Nestled in Hayes Valley, this little store is full of everything you didn’t know you needed for your trip. And then some. On a recent trip to the store, my shopping companion found a very useful all-in-one converter outlet thing, as well as a pill shaped pill box that she just had to have. I personally love their little dental hygiene kits, which are small enough to fit into a purse, laptop bag, or even your pocket. The store also stocks a variety of guidebooks, the Moleskine guides, and off-the-beaten path guides.
One of the coolest things we saw was an old school FILM camera. I am not sure where you even get film for that anymore, but what a retro idea. And, of course, there are tons of quality and designer bags and suitcases.
You can easily get to Flight 001 and Hayes Valley from downtown by taking the 21 Hayes bus, or the 5 Fulton. Once you’ve purchased your goodies, head a few doors down to Frjtz and dine while you admire your new gear!
