Fireworks for the Fourth

With all the fires currently blazing in California, fireworks may seem like the last thing on anyone’s mind. But, it wouldn’t be a good Fourth of July celebration without them! Here are a few fireworks shows happening on the Bay. All shows listed below are free to the public.

Fireworks at Aquatic Park – Fisherman Wharf’s day-long celebration culminates with a fireworks show at 9.30pm. To see the show, set up somewhere between Pier 39 and Aquatic Park. Get there early and enjoy the all-day festival at Pier 39 and the Cannery. To get to Pier 39 by public transit from downtown, head down to Market St. and grab the F line.

Fourth of July in Berkeley – Head across the Bay to the Berkeley Marina for a spectacular fireworks celebration. The day starts at 11 with an all-day festival, with firework finale at 9.30pm. To get to the Berkeley Marina by public transit from downtown San Francisco, take BART to the Downtown Berkeley station (may require a transfer as BART will be on holiday schedule), head to the corner of Shattuck Sq. and Center St. to catch AC Transit Bus #9/9 Dwight Way. Get off at University Ave & Bait Shop.

Fourth of July at Jack London Square – Jack London Square will have entertainment starting at 4pm, with fireworks starting at 9.15pm. To get to Jack London Square by public transit from downtown San Francisco, take BART to the 12 St/Oakland City Center exit. Go to the corner of Broadway & 14th, grab AC Transit Bus #72/72 San Pablo. Exit at Embarcadero W & Broadway.
