Getting Out of San Francisco for Labor Day Weekend

With summer winding down, now is the time to plan Labor Day travel if you haven’t already. It’s summer’s last hurrah for most people, before school starts up again and slightly-slower work schedules go back to normal, and even though summer in San Francisco isn’t exactly known for balmy temperatures it’s still perhaps one of the last best excuses to get out of the foggy city and remind yourself what summer feels like in other parts of the world.

There are all kinds of options within a short distance from San Francisco that are great places to spend a three-day weekend at the start of September. But if you really want to get away for the weekend you’ll take advantage of the fact that there are flights to just about anywhere from one of the area’s major airports.

Since SFO is one of only a few airports where jetBlue has frequent service, a three-day weekend like Labor Day is a good reason to look up the various deals on jetBlue flights. The airline recently brought back its “All You Can Jet” pass for a limited time, and that may be a good option for you – but even if you’re just buying one simple round-trip ticket, jetBlue offers some excellent bargains and highly-rated service.

Despite jetBlue’s great reputation and often excellent prices, however, the network of routes jetBlue flies isn’t as intricate as some other airlines. So if the place you’d like to go for Labor Day isn’t on jetBlue’s route map, take comfort in the hundreds of other deals from San Francisco area airports that come up every single day.
