Spend Spring Break in Mazatlan this Year

With the Spring Break 2011 approaching, American students start day-dreaming : beaches, cocktails, dancing, girls, boys, fun… vacation! Ah! I remember the college years when I couldn’t wait for the mid-terms to end so that I could go somewhere and have fun.

This year, Spring Break is in mid-March so everyone is rushing to book flights to budget Spring Break destinations such as Mazatlan, Jamaica or Las Vegas.

Choosing Mazatlan for Spring Break will ensure sun, send, girls, boys and partying…and a budget that won’t burn holes in your pocket. Mazatlan does offer an unbeatable Spring Break experience. The long beaches, the seafood and the superb weather – it only receives 4 days of rain a year! – make Mazatlan one of the best destinations on the Mexican shore. Do plan to take some time off from partying to explore the city with its beautiful churches. Also, if you love to shop, Mazatlan is excellent for bargaining in the outdoor markets.

As mentioned above, Mazatlan is a place which won’t burn holes in your pocket. Cheap flights to Mazatlan are not that hard to find. If you plan to fly in mid-March, round trip flights from New York start at $540 per person (on Alaska Airlines) , while round trip flights from San Francisco start at $557 per person (also on Alaska Airlines).

Accommodation in Mazatlan is cheap, especially if you are not looking for too many facilities. Double rooms start at $35 per night in a 2-star hotel located within the Historical Center of Mazatlan. Or you can rent an apartment with your friends. It’s cheaper than staying in a hotel and you can save even more money by not eating at the restaurants all the time.
